About the Chatbotscape Editorial Team
Chatbotscape is an independent review and research publication covering the chatbot, AI agent, and conversational AI market for small and medium businesses. We test products hands-on, verify vendor claims against primary sources, and publish findings under a single institutional byline: Chatbotscape Editorial.
Who we are
The Chatbotscape Editorial team comprises product analysts, conversation designers, and software engineers with combined experience across:
- Conversational AI deployment — building, evaluating, and operating chatbot and agent products on platforms including Manychat, Botpress, Intercom, Voiceflow, Dialogflow, Rasa, and custom LLM stacks
- SMB marketing automation — direct experience scaling messenger marketing, lead capture, and customer support automation for small businesses across the US, Brazil, Mexico, India, and Europe
- Software product evaluation — formal training in product analysis, software quality assurance, and review methodology
- WhatsApp Business API and BSP architecture — hands-on integration work across multiple Meta Business Solution Provider platforms
- LLM systems engineering — building production RAG pipelines, evaluating LLM cost and performance, and operating agent-shaped products
We publish under a single institutional byline rather than individual names for two reasons:
- Consistency. Every review on Chatbotscape follows the same methodology and quality bar. No reader needs to learn which author has the relevant expertise — they all do.
- Accountability. When findings are wrong, we own them collectively and fix them collectively. Errors trace to the editorial process, not to a single person.
How we research and write
Every Tier 1 platform review on Chatbotscape goes through this process:
- Keyword and market positioning research. We use Ahrefs to confirm brand search volume across regions (US, Brazil, LATAM aggregate, India, UK, Germany, France, Worldwide) before deciding which platforms to cover.
- Vendor source verification. All pricing, channel availability, feature claims, integration partners, founder names, and funding totals are verified directly on the vendor's current public pages — never from training data or memory.
- Hands-on testing. Where feasible, we run a six-scenario protocol on a paid account: welcome flow, qualification flow, transactional flow, AI fallback handling, multi-language support, and integration testing.
- Third-party aggregator scan. We read recent (last 6 months) reviews on G2, Capterra, and TrustPilot to triangulate user sentiment against our hands-on findings. When editorial and user voice diverge, we discuss the divergence in the review itself.
- Pre-publish audit. Each review goes through a feature-claims verification checklist covering six risk categories: specific counts, proper nouns, status/tier claims, existence claims, pricing details, and aggregate scores.
The full methodology is documented at Methodology.
How we make money
Chatbotscape is funded through:
- Affiliate partnerships with some — not all — of the platforms we review. When a review includes an affiliate link, we disclose this clearly in the review itself (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Affiliate status does not affect editorial findings, scoring, or ranking — we publish negative findings on platforms we have affiliate relationships with when those findings are accurate.
- Sponsored research reports, clearly labeled as sponsored content and kept separate from editorial reviews.
We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews, favorable placement, or omitting unfavorable findings. We do not let vendors pre-review or pre-approve content before publication.
Conflicts of interest
When a member of the editorial team has a material financial relationship with a vendor (employment, advisory role, equity, immediate family relationship), we disclose this in the relevant review and either reassign the work or invite an independent reviewer to verify findings. We document affiliation-disclosure decisions in our internal POC notes and surface them in publishable form when material to the review.
Corrections and feedback
We make mistakes. When we do, we want to know quickly and fix transparently. Email corrections to editorial@chatbotscape.com with the URL and the specific claim you believe is incorrect. We aim to investigate within 7 days and update the page within 14 days of confirming an error.
Updated reviews show a visible "Last updated" date and we maintain a public changelog of material corrections.
Editorial independence statement
Chatbotscape is editorially independent. No vendor, advertiser, or affiliate partner has the right to review content before publication, dictate scoring criteria, or influence which platforms we cover. Our methodology is published openly and applied consistently across every review.
If you believe we have violated this principle, write to editorial@chatbotscape.com with specifics. We take editorial-independence complaints seriously and investigate them publicly.
