Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of chatbotscape.com and any related services we operate (collectively, the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

About Chatbotscape

Chatbotscape is an independent review and comparison publication for chatbot, AI agent, and conversational AI platforms, focused on small and medium business buyers. We publish editorial reviews, comparison pages, ratings, and methodology documentation under the institutional "Chatbotscape Editorial" byline. We are not a vendor of the platforms we review; we are not a reseller; we are not an authorized representative of any vendor we cover.

Permitted use

You may access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes — reading reviews, comparing platforms, evaluating purchase decisions for your own business, subscribing to our newsletter, contacting us with corrections or audit requests. You may share links to our content via standard linking and embedding mechanisms.

Prohibited use

You may not:

  1. Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract Site content beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt file. AI training data extraction is specifically prohibited without express written consent.
  2. Republish, redistribute, or syndicate Site content without express written consent. Brief excerpts (under 100 words) with attribution and a link back to the source are permitted under fair use; longer republication requires permission.
  3. Frame, mirror, or copy the Site in whole or substantial part.
  4. Modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on the Site or any portion of its source code, except as permitted by applicable law for interoperability purposes.
  5. Use the Site to harm third parties — including but not limited to using our content to harass vendors, manufacture false claims of misconduct, or selectively quote our reviews to mislead readers about platform capabilities.
  6. Misrepresent your affiliation with Chatbotscape — you may not claim to be an authorized representative, partner, or contractor of Chatbotscape unless you have a documented written agreement.
  7. Submit false or misleading content through our contact forms — particularly false vendor-correction submissions intended to manipulate our editorial process.
  8. Interfere with Site operation — DoS/DDoS attempts, security probing without coordinated disclosure, exploitation of security vulnerabilities are all prohibited.

We reserve the right to block access to the Site for users who violate these prohibitions, and to pursue legal remedies where the violation causes material harm.

Intellectual property

Site content. All editorial content, methodology documentation, scoring rubrics, comparison tables, screenshots (whether watermarked or not), and original images on chatbotscape.com are the intellectual property of Chatbotscape and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. Our content is licensed for personal, non-commercial reading; reproduction beyond fair use requires permission.

Vendor trademarks and product names. Vendor names, product names, and trademarks referenced in our reviews are the property of their respective owners. Use of vendor names is for editorial commentary, comparison, and review purposes; we do not claim affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from any vendor we review.

User submissions. When you submit content to us (corrections, audit requests, feedback, vendor responses to factual claims), you grant Chatbotscape a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the submission for editorial review, fact-verification, and to publish responses (with attribution if you have provided your name, or anonymously if you have not).

Affiliate disclosures. Links labeled or styled as affiliate links lead to platforms with which Chatbotscape has an affiliate program relationship. See /legal/affiliate-disclosure for the full per-platform commission table and scoring isolation protocol.

Editorial content disclaimer

Editorial findings are opinion. Chatbotscape's reviews, scores, comparisons, and best-of lists reflect our editorial team's professional analysis of platform capability, pricing, and value based on the methodology documented at /methodology. We make every reasonable effort to verify factual claims (pricing, features, channels, integrations, certifications) directly from vendor sources, but vendor sources can change between our verification date and your reading. Always verify pricing and feature availability directly with the vendor before making a purchase decision.

Scoring is comparative, not absolute. Our editorial scores are calibrated against the Manychat anchor review and against the comparable platforms in each category. A platform that scores 75/100 on Chatbotscape is not necessarily a "bad" platform; it is a platform that scored 75 in our methodology against our anchors. Different methodologies (G2 Grid, Forrester Wave, Gartner Magic Quadrant) will produce different scores for the same platform; our scoring is one input among several.

Not investment, legal, or compliance advice. Chatbotscape reviews do not constitute investment advice, legal advice, regulatory compliance advice, or tax advice. Where a platform's compliance posture (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, LGPD) is material to your purchase decision, consult qualified legal or compliance counsel.

Hands-on testing limitations. Our hands-on testing protocol observes platform behavior on paid-tier accounts during a finite testing window. Vendor product surfaces change between our testing date and your reading; specific UI elements, feature availability, and performance characteristics may differ from what we observed. Per-review "Last verified" dates indicate when our testing was last conducted.

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on our reviews are affiliate links — clicking them may result in Chatbotscape receiving a commission from the linked vendor if you complete a paid sign-up. This does not increase your cost. The full affiliate disclosure, including per-platform commission status and the scoring isolation protocol, is at /legal/affiliate-disclosure. Editorial findings are not influenced by affiliate relationships.

No warranty

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF EDITORIAL CONTENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SITE OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE IT AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CHATBOTSCAPE AND ITS EDITORIAL TEAM, ADVISORS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR YOUR RELIANCE ON SITE CONTENT — INCLUDING DAMAGES ARISING FROM PURCHASE DECISIONS MADE BASED ON CHATBOTSCAPE REVIEWS THAT TURN OUT TO HAVE BEEN BASED ON STALE OR INACCURATE VENDOR INFORMATION.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, this limitation may not apply to you in full and your statutory rights are preserved.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Chatbotscape harmless from any claim, demand, or damages, including reasonable attorney fees, made by any third party arising from (a) your use of the Site in violation of these Terms, (b) your violation of any third-party rights through your use of the Site, or (c) your submissions to us that contain false or misleading claims intended to manipulate our editorial process.

Vendor rights and responses

Vendors covered in Chatbotscape reviews have the following rights:

  1. Right to submit factual corrections with supporting evidence. Verified corrections are reflected in the affected review's version history within timeframes documented at /methodology/update-policy.
  2. Right to request re-verification of any specific factual claim. We commit to re-verifying within 14 days of receipt.
  3. Right to comment publicly on Chatbotscape findings via standard public-discourse channels (vendor blog, social media, third-party publications). We do not pursue takedown of legitimate vendor disagreement with our findings.

Vendors do NOT have:

  1. Right of pre-publication review of Chatbotscape content
  2. Right of approval over scoring decisions, framing, or comparative ranking
  3. Right of removal for findings the vendor disagrees with (only factual corrections supported by evidence trigger amendments)
  4. Right of inclusion — Chatbotscape decides which platforms to cover based on methodology criteria (brand vol thresholds, category fit, SMB relevance)

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the version history below; minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications) will be made without separate announcement. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, the prohibitions and disclaimers in these Terms survive.

Dispute resolution

Disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site should be raised with us first, before any formal proceeding:

  1. Informal resolution first. Contact us at legal@chatbotscape.com or editorial@chatbotscape.com to attempt informal resolution before pursuing legal action. We commit to a good-faith response within 30 days.
  2. Applicable law and forum. These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by applicable law, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your jurisdiction. You may bring any unresolved claim in a court having competent jurisdiction.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. The unenforceable provision will be replaced by an enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original.

Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy (/legal/privacy) and Affiliate Disclosure (/legal/affiliate-disclosure), constitute the entire agreement between you and Chatbotscape regarding your use of the Site, superseding any prior agreements.
